We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join an interdisciplinary team to work on the Illuminating and Addressing Healthcare's Role in Perpetuating Structural Racism (ISR) - https://drexel.edu/dornsife/news/latest-news/2024/February/ubuntu-center-project-to-address-structural-racism-in-healthcare-rwjf-grant/ project, a multi-site initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and housed at the Ubuntu Center on Racism, Global Movements & Population Health Equity - https://ubuntucenter.org/ at the Dornsife School of Public Health, Drexel University.

The Postdoctoral Associate will work directly with Dr. Sirry Alang, Co-Principal Investigator of the project and an Associate Professor of Black Communities and the Social Determinants of Health in the Department of Health and Human Development at the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. They will also have the opportunity to work with the Ubuntu Center's director and ISR Principal Investigator, Dr. Sharrelle Barber, and with other affiliated faculty of the center (Drs, Zinzi Bailey, Ashley Gripper, Jaquelyn Jahn, Loni Tabb, Irene Headen) whose research expertise includes racial residential segregation, racial trauma and healing, systems science, environmental racism and justice, spatial epidemiology, and Black maternal health inequities.

The ISR - https://drexel.edu/dornsife/news/latest-news/2024/February/ubuntu-center-project-to-address-structural-racism-in-healthcare-rwjf-grant/ project intends to synthesize and build on existing research to clearly illuminate the historical roots of structural racism in the healthcare system and the modern-day structures, policies, and institutional practices that have resulted in and perpetuated structural racism and a culture of white supremacy. We seek scholars with doctoral degrees from across all disciplines but whose research interests focus explicitly on links between racism and population health. While we encourage applications from all interested scholars, preference will be given to scholars who are from groups that have been historically under-represented within the academy.

This is a full-time, year-round position that is funded for two years.

Essential Functions:

Collaboration, co-learning, and engagement in critical and experiential forms of knowledge production with a diverse set of academic and community partners. 3. 3. Qualifications:

? Doctoral Degree (PhD, ScD, DrPH or equivalent) in public health or related discipline.

? Demonstrates a strong commitment to antiracism and recognizes the shared dignity and humanity of all individuals and communities.

? Comfortable working alongside community organizations, organizers, and scholars.

? Courage and commitment to personal growth and self-discovery in anti-racist practices and methodologies.

? Record of scholarly productivity including presentations at scientific meetings and publications.

? Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse communities.

? Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
