UPMC Nephrologist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

University of Pittsburgh Physicians seeks a Nephrologist to specialize in kidney care and the treatment of diseases of the kidneys, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), polycystic kidney disease (PKD), acute renal failure, kidney stones, and high blood pressure; involved in all aspects of kidney transplantation and dialysis; responsible for the care and management of patients in both the outpatient clinic, dialysis unit, and inpatient setting; maintain patient care for their kidney related disease, including evaluation for transplant candidate, committee review for transplant candidate, and post-op transplant kidney care. Physician will be responsible for coordination with surgery team, and UNOS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Specialize in kidney care and the treatment of diseases of the kidneys, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), polycystic kidney disease (PKD), acute renal failure, kidney stones, and high blood pressure;

  • Involved in all aspects of kidney transplantation and dialysis;

  • Responsible for the care and management of patients in both the outpatient clinic, dialysis unit, and inpatient setting;

  • Maintain patient care for their kidney related disease, including evaluation for transplant candidate, committee review for transplant candidate, and post-op transplant kidney care.

  • Physician will be responsible for coordination with surgery team, and UNOS.

  • Must have a Medical degree or equivalent.

  • Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine;

  • Must have completed a fellowship in Nephrology;

  • Must be Board Certified or eligible for certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology;

  • Must have a valid unrestricted PA medical license or eligibility.

  • Some telecommuting permissible.
