UPMC Medical Office Pro - Temporary (Magee Hospital) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This position is available to CNX Mentorship Academy Students only. This is a Monday through Friday daylight summer position with Magee Hospital for a summer internship program.

Pay rate is $16.68/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains waiting room and office supplies.

  • Maintains accurate communication including, but not limited to, promptly answering telephones, activating the paging system, facilitating timely faxing, and distributing patient and unit mail

  • Verifies insurance for accuracy and completeness and gets appropriate forms completed and signed by patients.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Verify necessary information and records in the electronic medical record and computerized scheduling system.

  • May room patients and prepare charts/medical records for review

  • Greets and assists visitors, physicians and other staff members

  • Schedule appointments, patient registration and place follow-up calls to physicians and/or patients

  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and departmental guidelines

High School Diploma Strongly Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
