UPMC Manager, Accounting Analytics (Hybrid Remote) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

Manage general Corporate accounting activities and financial analyses. Supervise personnel engaged in the provision of general accounting services and financial analyses.

This position will be based out of the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will have the potential to work from home with a hybrid schedule which includes some days in office and some days at home.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and mentoring department's Finance Management Rotation (FMR) program participant.

  • Directs or prepares various financial analyses as requested from other departments, management, UPMC, auditors and other outside entities.

  • Maintains adequate internal controls, makes recommendations for internal control improvements and implements improvements to maintain the integrity of the accounting records. Ensure internal controls are tested and in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

  • Trains, supervises and manages the performance of personnel including the establishment of performance standards, objectives and annual reviews, which must be completed in a timely manner.

  • Completes and or coordinates special projects and tasks as requested by the Corporate Controller or Chief Financial Officer.

  • Ensures that the general ledger and accounting transactions are maintained in accordance with GAAP, UPMC policies and procedures and other external requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience required, including extensive experience with the preparation, review and analysis of financial statements, general ledger accounting, and financial analysis.

  • A Master's degree or CPA license and five years of experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of one year managerial or supervisory experience required.

  • Successful demonstration of the completion of the competencies required by the department required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
