P.J. DICK INCORPORATED Lab Technician (Asphalt Plant) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

LINDY PAVING, widely recognized as one of the largest and most successful asphalt paving contractors and manufacturers in the tri-state area and, as part of the PJ Dick-Trumbull-Lindy family of construction companies, voted one of Pittsburgh's "Best Places to Work", is seeking Quality Control Technicians for Western PA and Eastern OH.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Lab Technician is responsible for the testing and inspection of road construction materials, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). The purpose of inspecting and testing of road construction materials is to determine whether or not their characteristics, properties and quality meet or exceed the standards and specifications prescribed by our customers.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Perform testing in accordance with Lindy Paving's Quality Control System
  2. Understanding test methods and procedures
  3. Analysis of test data and corrective action to prevent non-conforming products
  4. Documentation and data control
  5. Care and maintenance of testing equipment
  6. Developing and training for succession

     

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Educational and experience requirements include: High School Diploma or equivalent. NECEPT certification or Quality Control experience in any aspect of road construction, preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, strong analytical skills and communication skills required. Must be able to meet all safety requirements and adhere to company safety policies. Willingness to work overtime, night shift, weekends required. Must posses a valid driver's license to be able to drive to various plant locations as required.
