Lab Prep Assistant

The University of Pittsburgh, Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, Department of Biological Sciences, is seeking a Technician to work with faculty members and undergraduate student laboratory assistants to complete all aspects of preparation for Foundations of Biology Laboratory courses. This will include (but not be limited to): preparation of course materials such as media,reagent aliquots, and sterile supplies; training and overseeing the work of undergraduate laboratory assistants; maintaining laboratory equipment; ordering supplies; and keeping up-to-date records of all purchases. In addition, the Technician will be responsible for trouble-shooting protocols and procedures in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, ecology, and others.
