Description

The IT Senior Internal Auditor I will be an essential member of our client's Internal Audit team, performing a crucial role within the company's governance structure. This role will involve aiding operational, regulatory, and tech-related audits through the use of a risk-oriented approach, examining and advising on tech and business systems, procedures, and controls. The individual holding this position will liaise with key business figures, offering support in audits and special assignments, and attending management committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the comprehensive conduct of internal tech and operational audits

  • Clear communication of audit requirements to relevant stakeholders

  • Understanding how crucial risks and controls impact the business operationally, financially, and systemically

  • Planning and executing audits with minimal supervision

  • Prioritizing the most critical risk sectors when reaching conclusions and performing tests

  • Meeting project milestones and deadlines consistently

  • Proactively identifying and communicating potential risks

  • Recommending mitigation strategies and audit plans based on accurate identification of potential risks

  • Reexamination of Internal Audit observations

  • Cultivating strong relationships with colleagues

  • Contributes positively to team dynamics and shares responsibility for team outcomes

  • Implementing tools to better analyze data and improve efficiency and effectiveness of auditing

  • Staying updated on the latest tech and auditing practices

  • Adapting and revising audit plans and strategies based on the company's short and long-term goals

  • Understanding of the relevant risks and opportunities in the IT sector

  • Informing the company on market and regulatory trends that could have significant effects on corporate plans and risks

  • Assisting external auditors

  • Ensuring compliance with necessary policies and procedures

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field

  • Three plus years of auditing experience, with at least two years focusing on IT

  • Risk-based auditing approach experience preferred

  • CISA, CIA or CPA certifications are preferred

  • Strong decision-making abilities, communication, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple audits and issues under strict time constraints

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Flowcharting software and CAAT system experience beneficial
