Overview

Responsibilities

Oversee the shipment lifecycle for international shipments: Manage the dispatching and transportation of the shipment to achieve desired pick-up & delivery criteria; providing regular updates to client in transit. Negotiate pricing with Customer & Providers Order entry Process documentation for shipment processing and customs clearance Secure proof of delivery documentation and complete shipment lifecycle within TMS Validate Customer & Provider rates are correct and apply any accessorial charges that have been incurred throughout transit. Monitor incoming messages into personal and shared email groups and collaborate with provider network to procure air, ocean, and ground international quotes Prospect and contract new providers/vendors/agents and expand existing partnerships React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned Other Duties Create and/or propose efficiencies in the operational process Have a functional understanding of provider capabilities within TMS system and collaborate with Carrier Management team to source new opportunities, providing the right fit and best overall solution for the customer Collaborate with Department Manager and Sales Team in order to evaluate customer pipeline and achieve desired departmental scorecard Support Billing Department as needed Create solutions for import transportation based on customer requirements Create solutions for export transportation based on customer requirements Support Carrier Management initiatives as necessary Support on-boarding efforts by making Sales calls, on-site Customer & Provider visits as determined Provide ongoing feedback with respect to Provider performance to Carrier Management team Collaborate with the Carrier Management team to measure KPI's and ensure quality assurance Audit provider invoices for accuracy Continue to improve margins without sacrificing service quality

Qualifications

  • Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • 3-5 years experience in international transportation industry experience required
  • Negotiation skills are essential
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills and have the ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate comprehension of Microsoft Office Software products including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with managers, customers, and operations employees
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Strong math, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
