UPMC HVAC Group Leader, UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Mercy is hiring a Group Leader, HVAC to support Facilities and Maintenance!

This position works Monday-Friday from 6am-2pm with an on call rotation.

Purpose:

The Group Lead, HVAC is responsible for the daily supervision of all employees assigned. The position is responsible for supervising the operation, troubleshooting, testing, repair and preventative maintenance of the hospital's HAVCR equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work following infection control procedures; maintain clean and safe work areas.

  • Review, schedule and distribute all shop work orders on a daily basis.

  • Order and maintain material and parts inventory.

  • Assure all staff are properly trained in job skills and safety procedures along with details of equipment

  • Estimate the approximate cost of new installation into labor and material.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment as scheduled.

  • Maintains current MSDS in area and for personnel assigned.

  • Completes written work reports for the maintenance management system and preventive maintenance system.

  • Support Management with employee performance appraisals.

  • Responsible for implementing the policies and procedures of the hospital and department.

  • Be capable for performing all tasks expected of a HVAC including proper operation, trouble shooting and repair of the AHU's air distribution system, chilled water system and the building management (DDC) system.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Trade school background preferred.

  • Five (5) years experience working as a HVACR technician is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer License is preferred.

  • EPA Universal Refrigerant License is preferred.

  • OFSA: Act 73 Department of Aging Clearance is required and must be obtained within 90 days if not a resident of Pennsylvania for 2 years prior to hire.
