Location: Pittsburgh, PA, Mon-Thurs onsite and Friday REMOTE

Type: Direct Hire

Overview:

A top-ranked research university is currently searching for a Grants & Contracts Specialist for one of its growing departments to perform Pre- and Post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts. Prepares, negotiates, and monitors grants, contracts, and budgets. If interested in joining this dynamic department, please apply!

Responsibilities:

  • Performs pre- and post-award accounting duties for complex grants and contracts.

  • Prepares, negotiates, and monitors grants, contracts, and budgets.

  • Maintains award-related schedules, prepares complex government applications and reports, and interprets policy and procedure.

  • Monitors account activity, performs internal audits, resolves complex issues, and reviews routine financial documents.

  • Develops and implements accounting techniques and procedures for operational improvements, assists with managing special projects, and prepares operating budgets.

  • Will work with Industry Sponsors and Foundations.

  • Will prepare and meet regularly with faculty/supervisor to review financials.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • Some knowledge of clinical trials and grants is highly preferred

  • At least a year of accounting, financial administration, and/or compliance is required

  • Strong attention to detail
