System One Employee Benefits Coordinator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

TITLE: Employee Benefits Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Employee Benefits and HRIS

LOCATION: Corporate Office, Pittsburgh PA

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Performs a variety of routine administrative and professional assistance in the administration the Employee Benefit programs for System One and its divisions including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance; 401(k), Voluntary and Flexible Spending Plans. Primary responsibility is to timely address all employee benefits inquiries accurately.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists Employees with Benefits inquiries, Investigate and resolve “day to day” benefits issues of employees.

  • Process employee benefits enrollments and changes, during both regular new hire and open enrollment periods.

  • Monitors information provided to insurance carriers on a regular periodic basis to ensure accurate information being communicated to carriers.

  • Create and process weekly files for timely funding to 401(k), Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts.

  • Initiate life insurance claims.

  • Surface potential problems within benefits realm and escalate to the attention of the management as appropriate.

  • Assists in the Employee Benefit Education Process; prepare benefit packets at direction of Employee Benefits Manager.

  • Completes required entry into Employee Benefits systems.

  • Respond to national medical support notices and government reporting requirements as directed by management.

  • Assists with the Employee Benefit Education Process; prepare benefit packets based on classification.

  • Work with remote locations on benefits education logistics.

  • Coordinate the COBRA process including notifications and Third-Party Administrator reporting and requirements

  • Create and maintains benefit files.

  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of benefits carrier billing.

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Generate correspondence as required.

  • May assist other HR team members with projects

  • Other duties assigned as needed.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Human Resources or Related field or equivalent experience and/or coursework in Human Resources Management, preferred.

  • Familiarity with Federal, State and District laws, rules, regulations and reporting requirements, including COBRA, FMLA and HIPAA

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to maintain a high-level customer service and confidentiality.

  • Excellent oral, written communication, and data entry skills.

  • Able to effectively prioritize and address multiple items

  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities.

  • Previous experience with ADP Enterprise and Health & Welfare systems

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Demonstrated proficiency Excel including more complex functions
