UPMC Diagnostic Technologist Adv- Glenshaw in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC is hiring a full-time Diagnostic Technologist Advanced to support its busy Family Practice located in Glenshaw, PA! This position will work Monday through Friday mostly Daylight shifts. This position performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. The Diagnostic Technologist will competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

This position will be crossed trained to help as a Medical Assistant when x-rays are not needed in the clinic. If you are looking for a dynamic job where you can do a little bit of everything, this is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Performs QA and regulatory testing

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.

  • Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts while continually communicating with lead and management team.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

  • Alternate 2 evening shifts

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred; obtain manual vitals, room triage, answering phones, in-basket messaging

  • Phlebotomy

  • Vaccine administration

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology. 2 years Diagnostic experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
