System One Database Administrator Sr - Contractor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Title - IT - Database Administrator

Location - Phoenix, AZ - 2850 E Camelback Road Phoenix AZ - hybrid 3 days in office (Contract to hire, this position will not sponsor visa)

Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.

• Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.

• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

• Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.

• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.

• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.

• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time.

• Strong knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc.

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree and 2-year technical degree in computer programming or equivalent training/work experience required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, 6 to 8 years’ experience required.

Possibility of working weekends and evening week days but flexed schedule

No travel necessary for this role

Key Responsibilities:

Project oriented, change based upon projects being worked - participate in daily stand up, attend projects calls and all hands calls. Must have technical skills/experience (ask for alternative/tool/version)

  • 5 years of Oracle database support

  • Experience with Multitenant Architecture and RAC

  • Solid understanding of Golden Gate, Data Guard, EUS, FSFO, TDE

  • Experience configuring and supporting active/active configurations

  • Experience migrating large databases

  • Experience patching Oracle databases and Grid Infrastructure

  • Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Appliances (backup and recovery)

  • Strong scripting skills, OMS and OEM performance troubleshooting skills
