We are looking for exceptional research engineers who are excited about innovating upon research prototypes to make them well-engineered systems. You will act as a bridge between world-class researchers and engineers, collaborating together on the innovation necessary to build the foundations of social presence technology. Required Skills:

Codec Avatars Research Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with researchers on design and optimization of cutting-edge technology related to realistic avatars.

  2. Collaborate with engineers to scale and mature first-of-their-kind telepresence systems, to make them maximally performant, and to fuse together composite systems into a full-scale telepresence service.

  3. Collaborate with other machine and human perception teams at Facebook to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

  2. BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2+ years of work experience in CV/ML. Alternatively, PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.

  3. 2+ years of practical experience with training ML models in an industry or academic setting.

  4. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Generative ML models.

  2. Experience with real world system building and data collection in the context of training ML models, including design, coding (C++/Python) and evaluation (C++/Python).

  3. Publication in leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, ICCP, RSS, ICRA, etc.

  4. Experience developing software for computer vision, computer graphics, high performance computing, machine learning, or robotics applications

Public Compensation:

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
