Job Title: Caseworker (Visitation Specialist)

Location: Allegheny County, PA

*Starting Salary: *$19.00/hour

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., evenings until 7 p.m.

 

About the Team

The Caseworker (Visitation Specialist) is part of our Family Support Services team. This team provides a wide array of family support services to help families and children grow stronger, from prevention and reunification services to care coordination services. All of our programs are built around the idea of permanency --- supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families --- and putting the health and safety of the child first. This position independently develops and implements service plans that promote safety, well-being, and permanency for all assigned clients.

 

About the Position

The* Caseworker (Visitation Specialist) *is a hybrid community-based role that assesses and develops parenting skills through supervising family visitations. Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement service plans with assigned clients that reflect individual needs related to parenting skills and relationship building strategies
  • Provide Visit Coaching to parents before and after visits
  • Provide formal and informal community resources to clients as indicated
  • Transport clients to appointments as needed
  • Complete all required programming documentation within electronic health record systems with accuracy and timeliness related to county contractual requirements
  • Participate in any county requested activities including meetings and legal proceedings
  • Adhere to CPSL protocols related to mandated reporter responsibilities
  • Participate in scheduled team and supervision activities
  • Provides supportive peer shadowing experiences for new team members
  • Complete 40 hours of on-going professional development/training annually inclusive of CI required trainings
  • Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook and standard operating manual
  • Complete accurate account of work activities weekly in electronic payroll system
  • Willingness to work non-traditional work hours including evenings and weekends to meet client needs
  • Achieve 1575 client service delivery hours annually
  • Assist with coverage of other FSS program responsibilities as needed
  • Embrace the mission -- to heal, to teach, to empower, to amaze by serving as an ambassador of CI's mission by participating in workgroups, county, external agency, additional stakeholder, and community meetings and events

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or relevant Human Service field required
  • Minimum of one year experience working in Child Welfare
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Conflict management skills
  • Ability to relate well to individuals with challenging personalities
  • Ability to relate well to individuals with disabilities
  • Adaptability to schedule changes
  • Professional decision-making skills, utilized independently in the field
  • Act 33/34 Clearances
  • FBI Clearance
  • Valid, current driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
  • Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually
  • Reliable automobile with current inspection
  • Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the job
