Assistant Director for Operations

The Assistant Director for Operations in the College in High School (CHS) program is responsible for overseeing all IT efforts, including registration and payment, as well as teacher visits and administrative operations of the unit. Supervises business positions within CHS. Collects all data, validates, and analyzes for reporting. Coordinates the transfer of data between CHS software and Pitt systems. Seeks process efficiencies to create seamless service for end users. Builds and maintains relationships with IT vendor to provide solutions for all users of the software.

Job Summary

 

Supervises the day-to-day business operations of a small University academic unit. Enacts short- and long-range plans. Improves overall efficiencies, negotiates and approves agreements, and facilitates human resources actions.

 

Essential Functions

Ability to manage projects and supervise delegated workload. Must command excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in support of a diverse community. Must have expert verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a larger team. Must be willing to serve as back-up within the functional team environment. Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to assume responsibility. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.

Physical Effort

Primarily sedentary and must have the ability to attend designated events as a representative of the University.
