  • UT Health Pittsburg offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, a sleep lab, swing bed care, 16 physician offices, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness facility.

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Laboratory Technician performs clinical testing in one or more of the followinglaboratory areas: Chemistry; Serology; Microbiology; Hematology; and Urinalysis.
  • A technicianobtains or receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures,understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventive maintenance andinterprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
  • The technician works with theMedical Technologist and supervisor organizing work to meet established deadlines and recordsnecessary data.
  • Under the direction of the section or shift supervisor, responsible for one 8 hour shift, 5 days per week.
  • Incumbents are subject to working any shift, weekends, or holidays, and overtime as required by the director.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • AS in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with approved clinical laboratory training.
  • Nationally recognized certification credentials or equivalent.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 1 year experience preferred :::
