Summary:

Under the general direction of the

Director of Manufacturing

, this position supervises the personnel in the Machine Shop and Plastics departments. Performs machine shop and plastics production operations on needed products. These tasks are accomplished by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Supervising and managing personnel in Machine Shop and Plastics departments
  • Managing throughput with the Production Coordinator and other departments supervisors
  • Monitoring and safeguarding company tools and equipment
  • Verifying product output as to accuracy and quality required by drawings and specifications
  • Regularly monitoring accuracy of routing
  • Developing and suggesting ways to improve operations within the department
  • Monitoring raw materials and updating purchasing of needs
  • Assisting other departments with design and construction of jigs and fixtures
  • Maintaining plastic injection molding equipment
  • Recognizing, enforcing, and adhering to proper PPE and safety guidelines
  • Maintaining records for the achievement of annual departmental goals

Qualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma

Three years of experience in machine operations

Conscientious, detail-oriented worker who is self-motivated

Ability to read and understand drawings and specification

Ability to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of machine tools and plastics production equipment

Strong written and verbal communication skills
