EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (TO-15) in Charlotte, NC. This is a hands-on role performing TO-15 testing and cleaning, shipping and maintaining canisters. This position is in a clean laboratory environment where everything is recorded and needs to be traceable.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Analyze environmental samples via EPA TO-15 Calibrate and maintain GC-MS instrument Clean canisters which are used to collect air samplesCalibrate flow controllers which fill the cansFill can orders, shipping cans (boxing up, printing labels, taking to loading dock for shipment)Process returning orders by filling in forms/logbooks and using an in-house equipment tracking software programRecord all calibrations and cleanings into log booksReceive environmental samples and log-in/data entry Chain of Custody into LIMS system and shipping and handlingInspect samples to ensure sample integrity is retained and that the packaging is not compromisedGenerate analytical reports and enter data produced by analysts into the computer system for the production of the final, client ready reportEnsure that the final report is prepared within the required time frames and that the results are reported to the client in a timely mannerAssist with customer services client questions via phone and e-mailClerical duties such as answering phones, filing, faxing, assisting clients, scanning, mailing, etc. as necessary Requirements:High School Degree or equivalent One plus years' experience in analytical chemistry utilizing GC-MS is requiredMust be proficient in MS Office especially Excel and typingPrevious experience in a mechanically related position is a plusAbility to follow directions and complete tasks when givenAbility to work in independentlyMechanically inclined with good manual dexterityAble to lift min of 40 lbs.Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast paced environmentMust be organized and possess strong attention to detail Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenMust be a team playerAvailable Shift:Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EMSL Offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, flexible spending accountTo find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
