For more information visit our website at Position Description Kearfott Corporation is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Pine Brook, NJ. As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: documenting all departmental procedures, starting with the monthly closing process. This person will become a valuable part of the finance team and enable cross-training of departmental responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with fellow team members and other business units to gather required information to complete assignments. Essential Functions Prepares monthly invoices in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation standards for cost-based contracts. Conducts research as needed for posting errors, debit memos, customer issues, etc. Updates daily cash reports. Works on special projects as required. Supports finance during external audits. Provides ad-hoc reports as required. Assists with fixed-asset accounting, tagging, and auditing. Locates fixed assets, photographs, and tags. Accepts cross training for different job responsibilities of various key personnel in accounting. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks. Required Skills Critical Competencies Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves. Ability to follow through until the tasks are complete. Strong organizational and communicational skills. Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data in an ERP environment. Deadline-oriented, good time management and attention to detail. Required Experience Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of three years of general accounting experience required. ERP experience required; IFS preferred. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
