Directs and assists with residents, family/significant other education, and notifies family on condition changes

Updates plan of care when needed and observes and documents observations and care given to the residents

Assists geriatric patients in Long Term Care (LTC)

Collect samples for lab testing as assigned

Assists with formulating a plan of care for residents and provides nursing care to residents according to physician orders and regulations.

Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.

Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities

Long-term care nurses also often assists patients with the tasks of their daily lives

Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, etc.; clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks

Record patients\' medical history accurately

Monitor patients\' condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts

Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, etc.

Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.

Communicate with patient\'s family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License required or compact license
