DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (CAREGIVER) FOR INTELLECTUAL/DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY POPULATION

Location:Pierre, SD

Pay and Benefits Breakdown:

  • Average pay of $15.75 to $17.50 hourly depending on the program that you are placed in.
  • Daily/Weekly paydays
  • Full time staff are eligible for health/medical/401k benefits after 60 days

Shift Explanation:

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Premium pay on Weekends and Holidays
  • Floating Holiday PTO bank
  • One weekend day availability

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proof of GED/HS Diploma/Advanced degree required
  • Passion to work with DD population
  • Valid driver's license preferred

Job Duties:

  • Assist our supported individuals with their day-to-day adventures.
  • Light housekeeping such as vacuuming, doing the dishes, and laundry.
  • Plan and implement daily living activities.
  • Provide basic/moderate care/support, depending on individuals needs.
  • Prepare meals and plan a healthy meal plan with the Individuals.
  • Use a computer to notate and chart behaviors and incidents.
  • Assist with the distribution of medication.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
  • Perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for accessing spaces and performing ground-level activities.
  • Walk, stand, and engage in continuous physical activities during cleaning, maintenance, and outdoor tasks.
