1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who likes to develop and implement continuous improvement strategies? In this role you will promote and support lean activities and the development of a lean culture by leading, defining, and developing strategic activities for continuous improvement initiatives while following and helping establish standards across the company. We’re looking for team members with process improvement knowledge and the ability to understand problems from a customer's perspective and produce a mutually acceptable result leading to improved quality for the customer and efficiency in the process.

What You’ll Do

  1. Develop strategic plan for k aizen events and use of supporting resources with plant leadership .

  2. Identify opportunities for standard processes, improved flow, waste elimination and managing for daily improvement (MDI) activities in support of operations and business process performance improvements .

  3. Develop plans for the implementation of Lean principles in all areas of operations and business environments to improve the flow of material and information, d evelopment of processes , technology and operations performance.

  4. Train and mentor operations leadership on Lean practices including standard work, 5S, problem solving and waste elimination.

  5. Teach the use of proven change management and project management practices to operations and business leadership .

    What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration , Engineering , or other related field with a minimum of seven years of related experience and at least three years of those years in a leadership role ; and or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, develop and support a broad team with varied priorities and needs.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices , scientific method, logical thought process, lean principles, and business software.

  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.

  • Ability to influence others without formal authority.  Partners well across functions and groups in all areas of the business.  Able to effectively negotiate and discuss areas of concern.

  • Demonstrate effective and professional presentation techniques and skills, strong leadership, teambuilding and motivating skills and abilities.

  • Ability to teach problem solving from a customer’s perspective leading to improved quality for the customer and efficiency in the process.

    Travel

  • Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
