2 - Second Shift

Are you the type of person who moves quickly, is independent and adapts well to new and different situations? In this role you will use welding skills to include fit-up, tacking and welding of cast, machined, forged and fabricated steel components to assemble industrial equipment. We’re looking for dedicated team members with a drive to build the best.

What You’ll Do

  1. Complete weldments in various welding positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications using GMAW-P by following Vermeer Welding Standards.

  2. Position, align and fit components together utilizing fixturing. Bolt, clamp and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications.

  3. Set and operate an OFC oxyfuel torch for preheating safely and efficiently.

  4. Perform regular and routine maintenance on welding equipment.

  5. Support 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offer suggestions and make improvements that achieve the department’s performance board metrics.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to complet e Vermeer Weld Training to achieve the required certifications , licenses or registrations of GMAW, 1G-L, 1G-UL, 3F and 4F .

  • Welding experience preferred.

  • Calculate figures and apply basic mathematical functions including fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.

  • Ability to perform problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.

  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and carry out appropriate action in multiple situations.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Work Location
