Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Java Application Developer to join our team! In this role you will get to build user-facing capabilities that allow users to view and manage complex military tactical data.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and develop microservices and Java-based software applications

  • Design and develop core reusable Java components to be leveraged by other developers to build user-facing capabilities

  • Develop user-facing capabilities leveraging Java

  • Assist with the testing and integration of applications and systems prior to delivery to users

  • Assist with cyber “hardening” of software to ensure the delivered software is secure and meets required cyber security standards

  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tooling used in the creation of various software products

  • Work closely with teammates to solve problems and produce high-quality software

  • Continuously challenge yourself to become a better software developer

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent work experience with demonstrable capabilities and results

  • Develop software leveraging Spring Java Framework

  • Develop software leveraging Java Swing to create window-based applications and reusable components

  • Develop solutions leveraging REST and WebSocket technologies

  • Are able to use modern software build tools, including Git, Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven

  • Have experience with and are comfortable using non-Windows (Linux, Mac OS X) platforms for software development

  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience using Git (or a Git-based implementation, e.g. Stash, Bitbucket, GitHub) in a collaborative production environment—especially on a large-scale software project

  • Published software projects for external consumption, or have made significant contributions to existing open-source projects

  • Experience with the Agile or Scrum development methodology

  • Experience working as part of a software development team

  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket/Stash, Nexus)

  • Experience with continuous integration or build automation (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo)

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
