U-Haul Tolls and Citations Program Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Location:

Under the direction of the President, or designated manager, develop, implement and administer programs associated with tolls and citations which require production knowledge and system experience. Evaluate the profitability and efficiency of the programs and recommend or initiate the necessary alterations to meet changing conditions. Plan and direct the execution of specialized strategies and activities related to the assigned programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Reasonable and predictable attendance is essential.

  • Develop, implement, maintain and monitor marketing plans, policies and strategies for assigned programs.

  • Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and related instructional and reference materials for assigned programs.

  • Plan and direct the execution of specialized advertising and promotional strategies and activities related to assigned programs.

  • Establish and maintain good business relationships with company presidents and representatives of tolling authorities and jurisdictions.

  • Review the profitability of assigned programs and prepare comprehensive proposals to make additions, deletions or adjustments to the program.

  • Maintain a close working relationship with other Vice Presidents and Program Managers within U-Haul International to insure that proper product balance, emphasis and perspective are maintained.

  • Work closely with Towers Business Units to implement programs. 10. Keep abreast of trends and developments regarding technological innovations, pricing, legislation, consumer demands, customer complaints, industry competition and U-Haul program performance.

  • Take decisive action to modify policies, standards, programs, procedures or strategies as required.

  • Provide technical guidance when needed.

    EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: College degree in Business or the equivalent in experience. Knowledge of specialized fields.

    EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years

    SKILLS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/TOOLS:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational and time management skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Have U-Haul system and product knowledge

  • Must possess the aptitude for working in a computerized environment utilizing various software packages and programs

  • Must be able to operate standard office machinery such as a multi-line telephone, fax machine, photocopier and Personal Computer (PC)

Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.
