Honeywell Sr Advanced Project Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

As a Sr. Advanced Project Engineer you will be part of the Auxiliary Power Unit Project Engineering team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Aerospace Power Systems for the 331-400P APU. This position will support the Qualification Test and Systems Verification efforts through executing assigned testing, being responsible for requirements verification, and driving Systems Qualification documentation to completion.

The successful candidate must be able to apply their engineering test experience, strong project engineering behaviors, and constant learning to serve as the single point of accountability for engineering work scope and execution.

You will report to Honeywell Aerospace site at 111 S 34th St. Phoenix, AZ 85034. Relocation support may be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes assigned testing and systems documentation in support of the program

  • Functions as project manager, estimating budget, schedule and staffing forecast for assigned tasks.

  • Responsible for authoring test procedures, APU/test article assembly, Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), test execution, test data reviews, and formal test reports.

  • Responsible for authoring qualification by similarity and analysis documentation in support of requirements validation efforts.

  • Drives Requirements Based Engineering MOS and efforts for requirements verification and validation

  • During execution phase, ensures projects being worked are running within the schedule, budget and staffing commitments

  • Travel to the US and/ or internationally - 10%

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

  • Minimum 5 years of Project / Program Management or Engineering experience.

WE VALUE

  • Experience in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering

  • Knowledge of gas turbine engine testing (including APU, Propulsion engines, etc.)

  • Experience in managing complex projects

  • Effective communication skills and ability to manage a cross-functional team in a matrixed environment

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

  • Program/control account management skills

  • Technical writing
