Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Simulation Education Specialist is responsible for creative and technical support in the operation of simulation technology and related educational design. This includes the development of scenarios techniques and equipment necessary for simulation education.

Daily Operations:

  • Work with hospital departments, physicians, or clinical educators in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation curriculum.

  • Coordinates & facilitates house-wide and unit specific simulation education for staff, students and the community based upon identified need under the direction of Manager.

  • Conducts structure, process and outcomes evaluation of all simulation educational activities

  • Acts as a resource to Center regarding program evaluation for facility, staff, student, and community education programs.

  • Submits documentation in support of simulation education to include attendance roster, course evaluation documents and competency validation tools.

  • Assures facility requirements, regulatory guidelines, quality metrics and related policies are integrated in education curriculum.

  • Utilizes adult education theories and principles to foster the educational development of participants

  • Collaborates on curriculum development and implements simulation classes, courses and programs based upon identified education needs and utilizing traditional, non-traditional and innovative methods of instruction including the use of technology and simulation (orientation, new grad sims, externs, medical residents, and physicians)

  • Integrates simulation outcome evaluation with regulatory and organizational needs assessment, data, and trends to determine program effectiveness.

  • Develops, implements and reports outcomes of simulation education metrics.

Simulation and Organizational Management Systems

  • Utilize LMS in the planning, implementation, and reporting of all simulation based activities.

  • Develop and maintain proficiency on use of Learning Space including inputting cases, scheduling events, and utilizing reporting capabilities.

  • Maintain equipment and systems, including trouble-shooting equipment, updating operating systems as needed, and resolving system problems with the manufacturer.

  • Operate and maintain advanced audio-video recording systems consisting of multiple cameras and microphones within the learning space system.

  • Provides user support for Learning Management systems

  • Generates LMS reports as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Experience:

4 years professional experience related to medicine nursing and/or emergency response required.

High fidelity simulation preferred

Education:

Bachelors degree in related field

Masters degree preferred

Licensure:

RN

Certification in Simulation or Education

Special Skills:

Experience with operation of task trainers, low and high fidelity mannequins, AV simulation software, and scenario development required

Pay Range

$42.69 - $61.91 /hour
