Job Description: Under minimal supervision perform all tasks associated with shipping product to customers including, but not limited to: Examining, verifying accuracy, processing shipping documents, manifests, invoices, bills of lading. Processing shipments on UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager manifest systems, as well as other carriers. Confer and correspond with customer shipping notifications systems and export brokers as required. Process via AES applicable export shipments.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Scans packing slip to ensure switches cleared Get Ready scanning process;
  • Weighs and addresses parcels, crates, of merchandise or material;
  • Prepares individual labels and individually packages items according to work instructions and then containerizes by customer/order requirements;
  • Attaches postage or creates and attaches bill of lading;
  • Keeps records of goods shipped;
  • May select route or carrier when not specified by customer;
  • Fills out reports on shipment shortages and damaged materials;
  • Verifies compliance to export regulations and processes;
  • Actual movement of goods into and out of the shipping area is also required;
  • Maintains an adequate supply of packaging supplies and freight bills for product to be shipped;
  • Keeps quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work;
  • Performs tasks equal to or exceeding established standards;
  • Accomplishes production quotas; working consistently, working overtime and traveling as required;

Skills and Requirements :

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant;
  • Basic knowledge of shipment methods, procedures, and carriers for both domestic and international;
  • Manual dexterity to safely and proficiently operate or utilize general office equipment, measurement scales, stepstools, and loading carts;
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English;
  • Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned;
