Position Summary
The Senior Scientist for Digital Plant Quality and Laboratory Systems reports to the Manager of IT Digital Capability and is responsible for completing activities and initiatives associated with GMP computerized systems at the Phoenix Site. These activities include design, development, delivery, validation, maintenance, and support.
Key Responsibilities
Support for new system deployments.
Completes deliverables during the design, delivery, commissioning of GMP computerized systems at the Phoenix site.
Provides support to project teams related to Computer System Maintenance department requirements including user support models and data management.
Supports generation of validation and support documents (SOP's, Configuration Specification, etc.).
Executes validation protocols against systems as applicable.
Stays current with emerging technologies and informs management of capabilities and recommends changes where appropriate.
Routine support for GMP computerized systems at the Phoenix Site
Performs routine user and system maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of GMP computerized systems.
Identifies process improvements for existing GMP computerized systems and works with management to initiate related projects to implement the improvement.
Initiates change controls and document changes/creation as necessary.
Provides advanced training to users of systems.
Ensures systems are available for production use and any down time is minimized to reduce impact to user teams.
Requests quotes from vendors for approved equipment, software and services.
Interacts with application support groups while troubleshooting issues.
Involved with site interdepartmental initiatives and global projects.
Acts as representative for IT Digital Capability department during interdepartmental projects.
Supports global projects that require support from IT Digital Plant, Quality and Laboratory Systems.
Working Conditions
The incumbent will be required to work in an office environment potentially requiring ergonomic considerations.
The incumbent will be required to work in a conference room environment for moderate periods of time.
The incumbent will be required to work with computers for up to 8 hours per day, including typing and viewing computer screens during this time.
Occasional excursions to labs, production area or warehouse requiring some level of gowning.
Exposure to typical manufacturing, laboratory, mechanical and warehouse environments.

Qualifications & Experience
Advanced knowledge of MS office applications
Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting laboratory applications
Intermediate knowledge of IT fundamentals including Windows operating systems, networking, virtual server technology, backup and recovery, security, active directory, and disaster recovery strategies
Basic knowledge of SQL queries
Intermediate knowledge of Software Design Life Cycle
Basic knowledge of Software quality design and testing
Intermediate knowledge of cGMP, GMP, GAMP, SDLC
Requires flexibility and ability to multi-task
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Advanced organizational and time management skills
Advanced critical reasoning and decision-making skills

Education and Experience
Relevant college or university degree preferred.
Minimum 6 years relevant work experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
