Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Integrated Planner for Datacenter Lease, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

As an individual contributor you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects.

Planning

  • Develop and oversee continuous improvement of detailed project plans, including timelines, and resource requirements, for large-scale datacenter construction projects.

  • Manage cross-functional teams inside and outside Microsoft, including engineers, procurement, and construction to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time.

  • Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.

  • Work with clients to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet their expectations.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Project Management

  • Proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.

  • Continuously improve project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field AND 4+ years’ experience in engineering, technical program management, data analysis, or project management.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years of experience in planning and scheduling, utilizing scheduling software (ie Primavera P6)

  • 4+ years of experience in the following: design and construction project management and planning medium-sized capital projects ($50MM - $200MM+) in construction, datacenters, oil & gas, or chemicals.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field AND 8+ years’ experience in engineering, construction, technical program management, data analysis, or project management.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years’ experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, other schedule health analysis tools for use in Datacenter industry.

  • Competence with CPM scheduling methodology and Risk Schedule Analysis.

  • Proficient understanding of Project Planning, Earned Value Management and Key Commodity Tracking.

  • Proficient analyzing EPC plans/schedule and provide deep insights into trends, issues, mitigations.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
