Responsibilities

The Department of Translation Neurosciences at the Barrow Neurological Institute is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Technician to contribute to our ongoing investigations into translational approaches and molecular mechanisms associated with neurodegenerative diseases including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Alzheimer’s disease. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of these complex disorders. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team at the forefront of neuroscience research.

Responsibilities:

Laboratory Studies: Execute a diverse range of laboratory experiments demonstrating proficiency in operating specialized equipment and working with various reagents. Precisely follow detailed protocols and procedures while ensuring accuracy and reliability in experimental setups.

Data Management: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of experimental outcomes observations and data analyses. Skillfully interpret test results and contribute to the generation of meaningful conclusions from experimental data.

Scientific Analysis: Participate in scientific data collection and analysis employing sound analytical techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Documentation and Reporting: Contribute to project summaries research findings and procedural documentation. Conduct thorough literature searches and background research to enhance the context of research reports. Assist in the preparation of bibliographies and references.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor's degree in biology neuroscience biochemistry or a related field demonstrating a strong academic foundation in the life sciences.

Previous experience in an academic or laboratory setting showcasing hands-on involvement in research projects related to neuroscience or molecular biology is a plus.

Exceptional attention to detail ensuring precise experiment setup data recording and inventory management.

Proficient critical thinking abilities enabling independent problem-solving result interpretation and experimental design.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitating effective collaboration within the research team and the ability to convey findings clearly.

Pay Range

$17.12 - $23.54 /hour
