Honeywell Project Engineer II in Phoenix, Arizona

The Systems Project Engineering organization has an immediate opening for an Advanced Systems Engineer supporting new product development of gas turbine engines. We are building a Systems Engineering organization to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving Aerospace environment. Join our team and help us build the future!

In this role, you will support and lead the Systems transformation of our new product development programs. This includes the T55-714C engine and a new centerline turbofan engine. The selected individual will support and lead development of Systems engineering processes that include plan development, requirements management, and validation & verification training. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop Honeywell Enings & Power Systems’ future Systems Engineer processes and methods. You will also have the opportunity to support and lead specific efforts within the Systems scope of work under the guidance of a Systems Lead.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and lead System process execution for the new product development programs.

  • Ensure execution of Systems processes within the engine product teams.

  • Key aspects include working with the engine product teams to ensure proper execution of requirements validation and verification, requirements decomposition, specification development, requirements tool maturation and training, and subject matter focal for the engine product teams.

  • May include support or leadership of Systems workstreams related to:

  • Performance & Operability

  • Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety

  • System Structural Loads and Dynamics

  • Fuel/Lubrication System Architecture

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to US export control laws, must be a US Person

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Aerospace, or Mechanical preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years related engineering experience in the design, development, manufacture, and/or test of gas turbine engines.

WE VALUE

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and manage customers both internal and external.

  • Direct experience in the field of gas turbine engine module or system development and project management.

  • Ability to investigate broad, complex, and ambiguously defined challenges, rally team consensus around the scope and approach to resolution and lead the team to resolution.

  • Capability to facilitate interpersonal relationships and resolve conflicts tactfully and effectively within Honeywell and externally with suppliers and customers.

  • Ability to escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization

  • Must be results oriented

  • Experience with budget and schedule management skills in today’s EVMS environment. Direct project management training, such as PE academy, PMP certification, or other project management courses a plus.

  • Prior experience with Requirements Based Engineering

  • Prior ARP4754 working level experience

  • Excellent oral and written communications.

  • Escalate effectively with leadership
