Honeywell Principal Project Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

As a Principal Project Engineer you will lead the development activity for Honeywell’s contribution to the Honeywell-DENSO alliance’s Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU).

You will be responsible for technical leadership, program cost schedule and milestones. You will lead other disciplines and interface directly with our DENSO partner in order to meet project goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the engineering effort to develop work package structure, leads creation of cost, integrated schedules and milestones for components and system developments.

  • Interface and present status to Senior Leadership

  • Provides direction and oversight for project team

  • Leads prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and component/ system integrations

  • Oversees preparation, review and approval for documentation and deliverables

  • Uses enterprise-based business tools to achieve project planning and cost objectives

  • Meets design objectives and requirements for development hardware & software across multiple COE’s

  • Know and manage the work package risks.

  • Know and engage the resources required to execute the defined scope.

  • Leads a medium (>5, <15 person) or multiple small engineering Product Development teams, may cover multiple locations.

  • Mentor others in application of project scheduling, budget, and earned value principles and tools

  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships with key customers to identify new business opportunities.

  • Interface with our suppliers, partners, Internal and External Customers at a leadership level.

Travel within US and/ or internationally - 50%

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in Engineering
