As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express, uniquely positioned to support every business unit and customer across the Enterprise. The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide.

The Network & Acquirer Capability Delivery (NACD) team within NAS is on a multi-year journey to modernize the Global Payments Network, Merchant Payments and the Acquirer Platforms at American Express. We are responsible for modernizing and delivering core capabilities to ensure we can meet the unique needs of our Merchants, Acquirers, Proprietary Issuers and Bank Partners, and enable a wider variety of payments across the American Express Payment Network.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Manager, Digital Portfolio Management role is part of the NACD Program Management Office (PMO). This team drives the governance structure & processes for Network Acquirer Solutions’ portfolio of Enterprise Critical Multi-year Initiatives, Enterprise Top Programs, and Strategic Technology Priorities. The Manager, Digital Portfolio Management, will deliver end-to-end program management activities in alignment with strategic vision and roadmap. Evaluate program processes to define and optimize capability delivery through analysis and understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, project management disciplines, governance, and compliance. Assess program risks, inter-dependencies, and impact on existing business activities to support program goals. Analyze the product portfolio to identify any restructuring required to maintain alignment with strategic vision and roadmap.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams including product development managers, product owners, business stakeholders, and technology partners.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge vital to act as a subject matter expert on program delivery, risk management, and change control.

  • Build engaging communication and presentation materials that are digestible and ensures all key stakeholders are informed and managing towards a shared strategy/objective covering diverse topics including operations, delivery, finance and business challenges/status.

  • Collect and analyze KPIs and metrics and integrate the analysis into meaningful reporting with a focus on managing program efficiency via reporting and dashboards

  • Maintain various communication channels to ensure projects/capabilities are on track and our partners and stakeholders are kept informed

  • Participate actively in program reporting discussions to help clearly communicate progress, risks, and impact

  • Serve as technical and analytical support to the Program Director, maintaining visibility across all workstream operations

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to the program and project practitioners on Agile delivery best practices and processes

  • Influence, lead and communicate to all levels across a broad range of customers and constituents.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to continually learn and continuously implement frameworks and process improvements within a dynamic and highly matrixed environment

  • Find opportunities to drive a culture of continuous innovation, and discovery within the product delivery lifecycle while elevating customer journeys.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a similar subject required; master’s degree in similar fields preferred

  • 3 years of Project Management experience required; Project Management Professional (PMI) or equivalent Project Management certification preferred

  • Experience with issue identification and resolution, change management, and reporting

  • Agile delivery experience required; Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification preferred

  • High-level of flexibility with the ability to absorb new information and adapt to change quickly

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to independently recognize trends and provide relevant solutions

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

  • Team player, comfortable to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, within a cross-border, global team environment

  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous and fluid environment with competing priorities and needs

  • Motivated self-starter - ability to handle multiple assignments independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
