Schuff Steel Co Logistics Coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona

Position Value Proposition

The Logistics Coordinator II (LCII) will optimize the transportation and supplier network for Schuff Steel. The LCII will be responsible for the overall shipment documentation, preparation, and scheduling to ensure materials are picked up and delivered to customers on time.

Core Responsibilities

  • Communicating with multiple internal departments, transportation carriers, job sites and Schuff shops

  • Create and process materials into freight shipments, based on input from Project Management, into the Schuff management information system (MIS)

  • Build load tenders in the Schuff transportation management system (TMS)

  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments for transportation carriers

  • Review, audit and reconcile incoming carrier invoices

  • Create and prepare master invoice of weekly transportation billing

  • Provide backup to Logistics team as needed

    Education/Training

    High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent. At least three (3) years of related experience. .

    Software & Technology

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with Strumis is a plus

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Work Environment

    Position requires as many hours needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations required to carry out the functions. Working long days including evenings and weekends can be required for this position. This position is generally indoors in a climate-controlled office. However, some visitations to the outdoor plant facilities can be required.
