Summary

IS Auditor I / II | Audit - Evaluates business and technical processing environments.

What your day would be like:

You are responsible for:

  • Identify areas of potential weakness in controls and processes in specific business and technical areas.

  • Conducts audits and reviews to provide an independent verification and evaluation of the Company's information systems operations.

  • Executes and documents control evaluation procedures for IT audit projects including evaluation of system and network infrastructures, physical and logical security, systems acquisition and development, system architecture, change management, system availability and may include code review.

  • Interact with senior auditors and supervisor to clearly communicate issues and/or concerns.

  • Maintains a positive attitude and even temperament to promote teamwork and cooperation.

  • Complies with GAAS, IIA and ISACA standards and Company procedures to ensure objectivity, independence and professionalism of audits. Under direction of senior auditor, gathers background information to help in the planning of an audit in the Information Systems area.

  • Maintains basic understanding of IT processes, infrastructure and control to formulate risk assessments, including some knowledge of controls for a few key areas of information technology

  • Develops criteria for the extraction of data for testing using software programs (example Power BI).

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of new and changing regulations that may impact work and can master technically complex systems.

Minimum Requirements

IS Auditor I | Audit

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business or Computer Science or any combination of four years relevant work experience and completed years of relevant college coursework.

  • PLUS a minimum of one (1) year information systems audit experience OR IS experience in the areas of application development, operating systems, data center and network operations, support activities and/or information security.

  • Should be preparing for CPA, CIA or CISA certification

    IS Auditor II | Audit

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business or Computer Science or any combination of four years relevant work experience and completed years of relevant college coursework.

  • PLUS a minimum of three (3) years information systems audit experience in the areas of application development, operating systems, data center and network operations, support activities and/or information security.

  • MBA, CPA, CIA or CISA certification preferred.

Major Accountabilities

1) Under close supervision, conducts audits and reviews to provide an independent verification and evaluation of the Company's information systems operations.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:

  • APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.

  • Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

    *Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
