Job Description

As an FTTx Designer on our Telecom Engineering and Design team you will be responsible for creating fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) designs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sizing of serving boundaries using GIS address data; analyze, interpret, and organize large datasets

  • Determine feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises by utilizing, parcel, ROW, and easement documentation

  • Determine fiber allocations; reviewing field staking sheets, as-Builts and field collected data to determine the optimal running line and construction method.

  • Analyze aerial Imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions

  • Produce and review high quality constructible plan sets using GIS based software.

Qualifications

You bring to the team:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.

Qualifciations:

  • Ability to read, interpret, create maps and plan sets.

  • Ability to edit and create PDF documents (Bluebeam or Adobe skills)

  • Associate’s/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • General knowledge in OSP construction methods and best practices.

  • 3-6 years of FTTx design and/or OSP experience.

  • General knowledge of FTTx and/or OSP networks is required.

  • Knowledge of Google Earth KMZ files.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD based software is preferred.

  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Net Designer and/or other asset management platforms is preferred.
