Job Description

Field Service Engineer – Clean Factory Automation

Working onsite at Fab location in North Phoenix.

NO TRAVEL required for these openings. Professionally interact with external and internal customers/departments.

Generally, this position works under the direction of a Technical Service Engineer.

• Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products.

• Use supplied corporate processes to locate software revisions and appropriate documentation.

• Verify software status.

• Under supervision, perform log analysis of system errors to determine hardware or software issues.

• Effectively troubleshoot issues for both hardware and software.

• When necessary, serve as a company liaison between customer and company engineering for daily site operations.

• Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork with supervision.

The position operates on a compressed workweek schedule, Front-End or Back-End, and alternating between 3 and 4 days of work each week, with overtime built-in.

Must have a clean driving record.

Hard Skills

  • Prior experience in electro-mechanics

  • Engaging with customers

  • Reading technical procedures

  • Understanding of motorized products, belts, and proximity sensors

  • At least 1-2+ years in technical field service within the semiconductor sector OR Education (i.e., Associate's in Electromechanical Engineering, Technical School or Military Certification) with no work experience

  • Knowledge of electrical diagnostic tools

  • Familiarity with shop/hand tools

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints (must be able to identify at the component-level)

  • Adeptness in diagnosing and fixing electromechanical systems

Soft Skills

  • Professional interaction with external and internal customers/departments

  • Effective troubleshooting

  • Ability to work under supervision

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in North Phoenix, Arizona.

Work Environment

Onsite at a Fab in North Phoenix. Employees must be capable of working safely in a clean room environment, which is in proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical systems. Occasionally, work may involve high, precarious, or confined spaces, with potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risks, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Candidates should be comfortable in confined spaces.

Employees are expected to climb ladders frequently; sit occasionally; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
