The Network and Edge group (NEX) at Intel delivers the Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU) which is shaping data center designs for the next decade. Join the Network and Edge Group (NEX) to plan, develop and sell infrastructure acceleration solutions using Infrastructure Processing Units (IPU) in the Cloud, Telco and Enterprise market segments.

The team is responsible for Real Time Architecture pathfinding and future product feature definition. The team works with customers, Business Units and Planning organization to understand future use cases, uses pre-silicon modelling and post-silicon evaluation to synthesize those use-cases into future product features, and then drives those features into SoC and IP teams.

As a Computer Systems Architecture Intern in NEX you will:

  • Work on post silicon validation boards.

  • Take measurements on Key Performance Indicators of the system and silicon.

  • Create and modify workloads which meet the measurement criteria,

  • Document and communicate results to supervising engineer and rest of the team.

  • Work will involve learning the BIOS and Software tuning capabilities of the system/silicon, and some of the micro-architectural features, to accurately measure Key Performance Indicators.

This is full time internship in Chandler AZ and is expected to last 6 months and will start in summer 2024. Will provide work schedule flexibility in the fall.

Qualifications

What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any related field and currently in Junior or Senior year of study.

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ months of experience in any of the following areas:

  • C, C++, Python programing skills.

  • System boards, semiconductor chips, logic analyzers, probes

  • Unix/Linux Operating System Knowledge

  • Computer Architecture

  • Logic Design

  • Data Structures/Algorithms

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
