Job Description Summary:

The Director of Procurement is responsible for executing on a strategic and tactical approach to Rocket Software’s procurement and sourcing processes. Additionally, the Director of Procurement will contribute to the creation, update or development of procurement policies, procedures and systems that will add value and efficiency to the organization.

To complete this process team members must execute and lead a variety of tasks which includes requirements gathering, sourcing strategies, total cost analysis, fulfillment, contract negotiation and cross functional contract term negotiations facilitation, execution, supplier management, channel conflict, and life cycle management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This leader will spearhead the implementation and continuous improvement of Rocket Software’s supplier relationships while optimizing the procurement process.

• Leverage industry, function, or category knowledge to collaboratively research and build out procurement and sourcing strategies for business team requesters in support of business needs.

• Develop and communicate procurement business plans that help implement short, intermediate, and long-term goals to promote financial best practices with internal business partners, while reducing cost and risk to the business,

• Review, analyze and draft commercial contract terms and conditions with business teams identifying areas that could present risk or liability to business requesters

Collaborate with the IT/Legal/Security teams to streamline processes for business requestors

• Use experience and technical skills to expertly negotiate highly competitive contracts for Rocket Software, that leverage discounts, costs savings, incentives (rebates, discounts, samples, etc.), pricing terms, renewal caps and other favorable terms and conditions.

• Create templates and tools to support the RFP process and leverage spend visibility and supplier behavior to develop actionable data to help negotiate RFP’s, and other procurement or sourcing tools.

• Manage supplier relationships proactively, assess compliance with terms and resolving issues and disputes.

• Develop and optimize procurement policies, procedures, and programs in collaboration with Legal/IT/Security to ensure audit and regulatory compliance, while also limiting risk.

• Serve as a resource for procurement-related questions, provide training and policy and procedure interpretation.

• Meet regularly with respective business partners regarding procurement to enhance the understanding and adoption of policies and processes as needed.

• Develop process and workplans to track procurement results and deliver year-over-year savings, improved supplier quality/service and improved cash flow through beneficial payment terms.

• Train, coach and develop team members to ensure the procurement team is building and enhancing the development of its team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field

  • Minimum of 15+ years’ experience in in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on indirect spend

  • Experience in project management, contract management, supplier relationship management, risk mitigation and dispute resolution.

  • Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier regulatory requirements, market trends, and sourcing strategies

  • Experienced in evaluating and interpreting commercial business terms.

  • Familiarity with tools and processes used to conduct financial data modeling including experience building out category management plans

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with other departments and stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively communicate the Procurement value proposition throughout the organization and build strong relationships both in person and virtually.

  • Experience with Procurement organizational design and building a cost-effective department from the ground up.

The base salary range for this role is $150,560.80 - $188,201.00 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
