How will you make an impact in this role?

This role will report to the Vice President of Servicing for North America and is fully accountable for the execution of the US & Canada Payroll function end to end. The role demands a deep level of subject matter expertise in US and Canadian payroll practices including hourly paid colleagues, timekeeping, payroll related taxes & relevant legislation. A key part of the role will also be to develop a long-term strategy for the payroll organization along with an effective service delivery model alongside our external payroll provider.

The main responsibilities of the role include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee the day-to-day Payroll function ensuring accurate colleague pay

  • Direct and oversee tax preparation, review and filings

  • Oversee, manage and report on Payroll spend

  • Develop and maintain policies, processes, and training with appropriate documentation

  • Manage vendor partner to terms of contract and service level agreements

  • Oversee implementation of new process and/or systems

  • Extreme focus on operational excellence and mitigating risk

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations

  • Share knowledge, expertise and guidance when complex problems or challenges arise through resolution

  • Conduct rigorous analysis on emerging trends to inform the strategic direction

  • Develop standard reporting for payroll operations, business units and senior leaders

  • Partner with key stakeholders, i.e., Colleague Serving, G&L team, Treasury, Controllership, General Counsel, Employment and Corporate Tax

  • Align goals with the organization’s overall strategy and set clear expectations and performance goals for each team member

  • Develop and sustain a high performing team; defining what winning looks like

  • Lead and coach a team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Payroll, Accounting or Tax

  • Certified Payroll Professional

  • 10 years managing & overseeing a payroll function supporting an organization of 20,000

  • International Payroll experience

  • Proven successful leadership- dynamic leader who can lead a large group as well as develop future leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Critical thinking

  • HCM knowledge and experience

  • Extensive knowledge and accountability for Compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Understanding of qualified retirement plans

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to change

  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills

  • Strong Tax and Accounting knowledge/background

  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics

Qualifications

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
