POSITION SUMMARY:Thursday-Monday 4pm-12am

The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for the safety of all clients and the facility, supporting clients towards their treatment goals, and reporting required maintenance of the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the safety and security of clients in a residential treatment setting.
  • Support and assist clients towards their individual service plan goals in collaboration with the clinical residential treatment team.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, recovery-oriented therapeutic environment.
  • Provide intervention and support including listening, redirection, and guidance.
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural diversity and boundaries.
  • Observe and accurately document assistance in the self-administration of medications for clients.
  • Document client activity in milieu progress notes.
  • Observe and document client head count in Bed Check log.
  • Document and submit incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate verbal and written shift change reports.
  • Assign and monitor client life skills and light housekeeping duties daily.
  • Facilitate or assist with facilitation of psychoeducational and life skills groups.
  • Transport clients to community appointments and outings in agency vehicle as needed.
  • Accompany and support clients in community 12 Step meetings, recreational activities, and cultural community activities.
  • Monitor and respond to video surveillance, ensuring safety for clients.
  • Scan documents into individual client electronic medical records as needed
  • Support and actively engage in practices of inclusion through Cultural and Linguistically
  • Attend and participate in regular clinical staffing meetings and clinical oversight.
  • Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is considered to beNon- Exemptfor overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws. Non-Exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours per workweek.
