Responsibilities Job Summary The Activities Coordinator - ADHC takes primary responsibility for the planning, coordination, and implementation of all program activities and special events for frail, elderly, and physically handicapped program participants and their families. This position coordinates the volunteers. As a member of the participant care planning team observes and reports significant changes in participants' behavior. Charts specific goals and objectives for each participant problem as it relates to their individual Therapeutic Recreational needs. Assists other staff with basic program operation including meal set up and monitoring of various program areas. Supervises all activity program assistants, aides and volunteers. Performs all functions related to activity coordination. Schedules activities to meet the needs and interests of all participants, including special meals, special events and monthly decoration as demonstrated by observation and documentation. Compiles and edits information for monthly newsletter including monthly activity schedule and list of events as demonstrated by newsletter review. Works continuously to upgrade and expand ADHC activities to meet a wide range of functional levels. Works closely with Desert Mission Day Care Program to develop intergenerational activities as demonstrated by feedback and documentation. Leads program activity assistants and aides and provides leadership and coordination of other program staff in the delivery of the activity program as demonstrated by providing daily activity log, documentation and feedback. Performs functions related to providing care to program participants. Attends participant care conferences, assists with the planning and implementation of care plans, and maintains activity progress notes in participant file which reflect goals established in participant care conferences as demonstrated by documentation and feedback. Follows proper CACFP and organizational procedures and health sanitation standards at all times in the area of food preparation and serving. Participates in the administration of ADHC as a whole. Works closely with the volunteer coordinator to assure the effective utilization and supervision of volunteers within program as demonstrated by feedback and documentation Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience 1 year in activity coordination. Required Other Working with elderly population with disabilities Required Licenses and Certifications Food Service\Food Handlers Card - Food Handlers Card Current food handlers’ card for current employees or must obtain within 45 days of hire for new hires. Required Fingerprint Clearance Card - State Current Arizona Dept. of Health Services Fingerprint Clearance Card, or shall apply and be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card within seven (7) working days of employment. 7 Days Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) card required or must be provided to ADHC and HR within 45 days from date of hire for new hires.
