Sales/Commercial Director, Emerging ASEANCountry Based: Philippines

Manages dsm-firmenich local and regional clients in emerging South East Asia countries. He/She shall lead and manage effectively local sales teams in responsible SEA countries to grow profitable sales and execute accounts strategy according to regional objectives. He/She ensures that dsm-firmenich is recognized as the clients’ indispensable partner, identifies and delivers account plans. This role shall priority to be located in Philippines, travel to other countries and report to Singapore office. This role requires both strategic mindset, and hands on attitudes, coaching ability to lead a diverse team to deliver growth above market. He/she is highly entrepreneurial, and able to influence, lead by examples to deliver success in a complex business environment. The role is part of regional commercial leadership team and report to VP, Regional Consumer Brands, Perfumery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Perfumery team in countries of scope as the lead of Perfumery.

  • Report to regional VP, Perfumery Regional Consumer Brands SEA, JP, KR and implement 3 year growth plan, and deliver annual financial goals for the responsible sub-region

  • Cultivate strong relationship with key accounts, and developing accounts each market with local ACM, and establish Firmenich as key partner to obtain briefs for profitable business

  • Develop the market with both existing regional brands and develop additional 10% of new customer base by understanding customers’ needs, & develop go to market strategy; segmentation, new category to achieve the target growth

  • Define accurate pricing and margin parameters for each project together with pricing manager, maintain good data input in project management system and execute pricing negotiations with clients

  • Identify new business opportunities as per local Consumer Insights, innovation based trends of above countries, with support of Consumer Insights and technical development team

  • Work closely with creation team to deliver superior, competitive fragrance solution to win profitable briefs

  • Manage products life cycle and participate S&OP with supply chain to ensure demand planning, customer care to ensure high level of service, OTIF, and forecast accuracy

  • Lead the team to develop and monitor key accounts plan quarterly

  • Build the sales budget annually, monitor sales and profitability versus objectives, provide input to quarterly Sales forecast

  • Manage distribution and develop strategy to ensure tail ends customer are served efficiently

  • Delivers synergy target as part of DSM-Firmenich merger together with Personal Care team

You bring:

  • Min. Bachelor degree or equivalent (business administration, economics, marketing, science)

  • Minimum 15 years of sales or marketing experience in consumer goods or chemistry industry with strong passion for clients and products

  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and sound business decision making

  • Growth mindset with can-do spirit to win against competition

  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop client relationship successfully

  • Good business communication skill; Able to prepare and deliver impactful presentations to clients and management;

  • Able to develop strategic plans, define, prioritize and implement action plans

  • Good team player, seen as a strong partner by working with multiple cross affiliate and functional teams

  • Good South East Asian market knowledge and local language is a Must to key countries

  • Good understanding of Fragrance industry and global FMCG organization with the ability to sell concept and abstract ideas

  • Ethical business practice according to corporate code and conduct to safeguard our commitment to shareholders and society
