Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join our Education, Field & Sales Support Team within the Canon Imaging Technologies and Communications Group (ITCG). Utilize your technical expertise and industry experience to demonstrate Canon’s imaging products and services with the goal of supporting current consumer and professional clients, developing social media content, and exploring new business opportunities.
This position is full time and is considered virtual. The office will be open 5 days a week; however you will not be required to report to the office unless there is a specific business need. Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
This position works remotely from a home office located near a major metropolitan city/airport and requires overnight travel to events, meetings, workshops, and productions.
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors*
Responsibilities
Engage with consumers and key professional end users to demonstrate and educate on Canon products
Provide support to end users, which may include loaning, troubleshooting, demonstrating equipment, and responding to questions regarding advanced product applications and imaging techniques
Plan and conduct internal, dealer, and client training seminars in collaboration with the sales teams to educate about the features, specifications and applications of Canon’s imaging products
Collaborate with Canon’s Marketing department to provide support on product launches, marketing collateral, events, and other special projects
Contribute to the development of social media content to market our services and products.
Represent Canon in on-camera interviews, social media and marketing assets
Assess technical support requirements for the industry and develop / schedule appropriate activities and programs
Participate in research, planning, and execution of trade shows, activations and events supporting the imaging market
Develop audio/visual and technical documentation support materials to enhance information presented during training and technical support programs.
Follow up on assigned leads and identify and develop new business contacts with potential customers to increase Canon's marketshare
Compile product and market information, document business activities, and report on customer feedback and sentiment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant imaging field or equivalent experience required, plus 3-5 years of related experience as an imaging professional
Experience in the technical aspects of photography, cameras, lenses, and professional printers
Should have a strong understanding of how to effectively use major social media platforms for marketing campaigns
Experience in video production and live streaming workflow preferred
Must be eager to acquire and improve technical skills related to motion picture production, live broadcasting, PTZ/remote camera systems, and streaming protocols
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for the development and presentation of market support programs
Professional level knowledge regarding imaging products, techniques, and applications to communicate with and support the end user
Ability to lift over 50 lbs
Working knowledge of a CRM preferred
Requires approximately 50-70 % overnight travel
Must have valid passport for some international travel as needed
This position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job and must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies
*In accordance with New York City law we are providing the anticipated base salary for this role if filled in New York City: $58,500 -$ 79,170
*In accordance with California law, we are providing the anticipated base salary for this role if filled in California: $64,480 - $79,170
*In accordance with Washington law, we are providing the anticipated base salary for the role if filled in Washington: $65,479 - $79,170
- In accordance with Colorado, Jersey City, Ithaca, and Westchester law, we are providing the anticipated base salary for the role if filled in Colorado, Jersey City, Ithaca or Westchester: $52,870 - $79,170
