Jacobs is seeking motivated Structure/Bridge PMs and Senior Project Engineers to join our Transportation Project Management Group in Eastern Pennsylvania to deliver solutions to our clients and the Region’s travelers. When you join Jacobs, you’ll be part of a team responsible for all aspects of project delivery including: the quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, scope and fee development, contract management, invoicing, and project profitability for highway infrastructure projects. Sr. Project Engineers aspiring to assume such responsibility can receive PM training and mentoring, while serving in key design development roles on our exciting and active expressway corridor and portfolio bridge group projects.

We’ll look to you for oversight on directing and coordinating project activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Drawing upon your expertise, you’ll establish fee estimates and coordinate multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project while working with the Project Management Principal and Group Leaders regarding assignment of project personnel.

Your ability to build rapport will be utilized when you provide subconsultant management as well as staff development. Also, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects that meet local (State, County or City) and DOT/AASHTO standards.

Come demonstrate your business acumen when you maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as well as assist in the development and implementation of local marketing and business development. We’d look to your expertise when researching and tracking future project opportunities with our Client Account Managers. You’d also initiate and review proposals while also participating in interviews and presentations.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation design

  • Substantial experience in bridge design

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in PA, or obtainable in 6 months

  • Established local client relationships and has experience on PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects

  • Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects

  • Solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures

  • Working knowledge of CAD systems – MicroStation and AutoCAD

  • Demonstrated ability to perform quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production

  • Active engagement in professional organizations

  • Ability to travel locally on occasion for project related tasks and meetings

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Project management experience

  • Established local client relationships and experience on PennDOT, PA Turnpike, or City / Authority projects

  • Advanced degree in Civil Engineering
