Pennsylvania Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for our Vascular Surgery Team. This is a per diem rotating day shift opportunity.

This is a unique opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the inpatient Advanced Practice Provider Team caring for our Vascular Surgery patients at Pennsylvania Hospital. The service is covered by Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) and/or residents/fellows 24/7. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) providing inpatient care in the PACU, surgical ICU (with the support of the ICU team), stepdown unit and on the med/surg floor for patients who are undergoing or who have undergone surgery, from admission through discharge. This role also includes seeing Vascular Surgery inpatient consults, but does not include OR time.

The PA-C/CRNP will provide quality care across the continuum working collaboratively with the physicians, fellows and other APPs to achieve a team centered approach to comprehensive patient care for our patients. This position requires a high level of independence but is well supported with collaborative practice and a multi-disciplinary practice model.

The high acuity clinical practice setting is dynamic, fast- paced, and high pressure. Excellent critical thinking skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and strong medical, pharmacology, and medical knowledge are essential.

In this role there will also be professional growth potential and the opportunity to participate in Penn Medicine’s tripartite mission of clinical care, research, and education.

All of our Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners function under the guidelines as designed by the Pennsylvania Hospital medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body.

The PA-C/CRNP hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their supervisory/collaborative agreement with their supervising/collaborating physician.

Minimum Requirements:

Current state license as a Physician Assistant, Master’s Degree,

Current national Certification (NCCPA);

OR

Currently licensed as a professional nurse and certified registered nurse practitioner in the State of Pennsylvania.

Master's degree in Nursing with national certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Required
