POSITION SUMMARY

Rhoads' Maintenance Department has the responsibility of maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities to ensure a smooth and consistent operation across all of Rhoads Industries' Business Lines.

Rhoads' Maintenance Department has a shared responsibility along with the Rhoads' Quality/Safety Director, for adhering to, and enforcing all applicable safety precautions and programs associated with the use and maintenance of equipment, and shall thoroughly read, understand, and all Rhoads' standard procedures for equipment maintenance, ISO 9000 standards related to tools, and any ASME, and AISC requirements related to equipment and tool standards.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance on tools, heavy machinery, and fabrication equipment; Assist with repairs; Follow lubrication standards in Rhoads preventative maintenance program.
  • Perform facility maintenance to include: HVAC, lighting, electrical panels & wiring, plumbing, man doors & overhead doors, and roof inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, to include: Fabrication Equipment, Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Articulating Boom Lifts, Hand Tools, and Air Compressors.
  • Responsible for maintaining an inventory of service and repair parts.
  • Organize to support multiple projects and prioritize to meet required deadlines.
  • Maintain clean work area in maintenance shop. Provide facility maintenance support as required.
  • Must be capable and willing to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

     

REQUIRED SKILL SETS:

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills, and strong subject matter expertise to be able to communicate effectively with Project Executives and Project Managers, Foreman, Craftsmen, all members of the Rhoads Project Team, especially direct customers of the Tool & Equipment function.
  • Possess substantial knowledge of mechanical repair, continuous learning ability, innovative spirit, and agile critical thinking skills.
  • Have intermediate skill in handling multiple responsibilities, setting priorities, managing tasks, and overseeing more than one project simultaneously.
  • Be proficient in working under time pressure.
  • Possess good organizational skills, be detail-oriented & accurate, and demonstrate intermediate analytical skills.
  • Must be a collaborator, self-starter, strategic thinker, persistent, tactful, and persuasive.

     

*EDUCATION:  *

 

  • Required: High School Diploma, Trade School or the equivalent amount of education or experience.

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Must possess at least 5 years experience in Mechanical Related Field
  • Experience and knowledge of minor repairs for welding machines, breakers, and wiring for electrical circuitry.
  • Understanding and familiar with ISO, and UL Certifications.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass all background clearances including but not limited to Motor Vehicle Check, and a drug screening.
  • OSHA 10 certificate. Must be completed within 90 days of Hire.

Preferred

  • ASE, Overhead Crane Certificates, Mobile Equipment Certification, Air Compressor Certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be physically fit and capable of manual labor;
  • Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs;.
  • Must be capable of working in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and driving in an automobile;
  • May require walking and standing on irregular and uneven surfaces in an industrial setting;
  • Must be comfortable performing work at heights of up to 100 feet;
  • The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment suc as safety glasses, safety toe boots, hard hats, and hearing protection is required.
