Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)

The role is within AW609 Flight Control Systems team within the Engineering Directorate. The purpose of the role is to carry out System Engineering activities within scope of Flight Control System development.

  • Collaborate with the cross-geography FCS team
  • Support Flight control system architecture definition and analysis
  • Flight control system requirements capture, specification, validation and verification
  • Preparation of technical specifications and system documentation
  • Preparation of system test and reporting
  • Support system test activities at integration test bench, including data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Supporting Qualification of equipment and systems
  • Support liaison activities with Customers, internal and external

  1. Qualifications for Position:

*         A. Education*

Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Aerospace.

* *

*         B. Experience*

1. Zero to Two years experience in Systems Engineering and flight control system development

 

2desired/Preferred experience:

• Safety FTA and FMEA Knowledge 

• Experience of design, integration and qualification of flight control systems

• Experience with system testing and troubleshooting on test benches and on aircraft

• Experience with flight test activity related to flight control system development

• Knowledge and appreciation of the full Systems Engineering life-cycle

• Experience of creating and editing systems documentation, e.g. Requirement Specifications, Interface Control Documents, System/Sub-System Definition Documents, Test Schedules/Reports, etc.

• Familiarity with aerospace and system engineering standards ADS33, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, AS94900, ARP-4754, ARP-4761

• Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies for requirements management and data analysis, e.g. Matlab, Simulink, IBM Rational DOORS, CM tools

• Familiarity with planning and managing tasks
